David Grubbs
Partner and Senior Consultant
Dr. David Grubbs began his career as a fund-raising consultant 24 years ago, and during this time, he has led scores of churches, schools, and other nonprofit organizations in successful Capital Campaigns ranging from $1 million to $25 million.

Dr. Grubbs served two churches as Senior Pastor over a 35 year period. Both churches completed major building programs, funded by stewardship campaigns and the closing of major gifts and pledges. As a fund raising consultant, he is a specialist in conducting Capital Funding Assessments, Major Gift Campaigns, and Capital Stewardship Campaigns. He is effective in working with Pastors and lay leaders in designing and implementing a capital campaign.

He recently completed a $24 million campaign for a Christian University, and a $10 million campaign for a Christian High School. Born in Tallahassee, Florida he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Divinity degrees from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.

He and his wife Melinda have six children and eight grandchildren and reside in Laguna Beach, California.  They are members of Mariners Church in Irvine.  He practices the philosophy of life that he teaches, “Giving is life’s greatest happiness.  Only the things we do for others have lasting value."

Roger Boatman

Roger Boatman began his career as a campaign consultant 17 years ago. After serving for 22 years as a Senior Pastor, he served as Executive Director for the church planting organization of his denomination in California, assisting more than 60 churches.

As a pastor, Roger led his own congregation through two successful capital stewardship programs. Possessing personal experience with the concerns and challenges a congregation undergoes during a capital stewardship program, Roger’s ability to provide counsel is unsurpassed. Roger’s experience as a strategic planner and executive director provides him valuable knowledge in the areas of property acquisition, financing, and space utilization, giving him unique expertise for guiding capital stewardship campaigns. 

Roger has conducted more than 150 programs in various denominations, generating in excess of $500 million for local ministry. Ten programs have each exceeded $10 million dollars.

Roger graduated from Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO, and holds a Bachelor of Theology degree. He also attended Western Graduate School, located in Long Beach, CA. He lives in Dana Point, California, with his wife Donna, and enjoys cooking and playing golf.

Marty Grubbs

Dr. Grubbs’ oldest son Martin is the Senior Pastor of Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City, OK.  A graduate of Anderson University, he came to Oklahoma City almost twenty years ago. 

Beginning with a small group of 125 people, the church has now grown beyond 5,000, occupying a new campus on 75 acres in Northwest Oklahoma City. During his 28 year tenure, he has led the church in the development of a strong commitment to Christian Stewardship.  Their annual income is in excess of $10 Million.

Martin is very gifted as a speaker and a persuasive advocate of stewardship.  He led his congregation in successful campaigns that raised over $37,000,000.  The new campus was constructed and furnished debt free.

He is particularly skilled in feasibility studies, recruiting and training lay-leadership and major gift solicitation.  He has been very successful in closing multiple gifts in excess of $1 million.  He specializes in large church campaigns, and guides them in the development of successful church growth strategies.

Due to his responsibilities as a Senior Pastor, he is available by special arrangement, based upon the specific needs of a client.

Stephen Christensen 
Special Consultant

Stephen Christensen is a leader in the non-profit and educational fields who draws upon more than 25 years of diversified management and fund raising experience to design and implement annual giving, marketing & fund development programs.  His areas of specialization are organizational leadership, capital campaigns, and major gifts.

He has a strong background in institutional fund raising. His career has included development leadership at UC Irvine, Chapman University, Concordia University, and Olive Crest.

Under his leadership, the Chapman team increased annual giving from $6 million to $17 million.  Additionally, the team completed the largest campaign in the university’s 140-year history, a multi-year effort to raise $160 million.  The campaign over-achieved its goal by raising $170 million including $25 million for a new business school building.

At Concordia University, Stephen successfully completed a $24 million campaign for a new administrative classroom building. He currently serves as Chief Development officer at Olive Crest Children’s Homes, overseeing both annual fund operations and capital campaigns for five regional locations.

Stephan does specialized consulting with Grubbs Boatman & Associates, primarily in campaign design and volunteer training.
